Current Responsibilities
Eric King began his real estate career in 1989 and joined NorthMarq in 2002. As a Vice President with the St. Paul office leasing group, he actively represents both tenants and building owners. Eric’s primary focus is St. Paul’s central business district, as well as the East Metro area and western Wisconsin. Since joining NorthMarq, he has been involved in over 150 lease and sale transactions totaling more than 1,500,000 square feet.
Past Experience
Before joining NorthMarq, Eric worked in the office services group at Grubb & Ellis Real Estate Company. While at Grubb & Ellis he worked with a wide variety of clients including, Qwest, Xcel Energy and Met Life. In addition, Travelers Insurance, Citicorp, Nationwide Insurance REIT Management and Research, and Opus Corporation entrusted Eric with their real estate assets.
Prior to Grubb & Ellis, Eric owned a real estate company for 10 years that focused primarily on property tax reduction. He completed more than 1,000 cases with many prominent local companies including, Aveda, Egan Mechanical, Nordic Ware and Bermo Companies.
Professional and Community Involvement
Eric is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the St. Paul Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), as well as the BOMA Brokers Group. He holds a broker license in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
He is an active participant in the Stillwater Area Hockey Association, currently coaching a hockey and Bantam team.
Education
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/finance and accounting from Mankato State University. Eric was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and served as vice president of the campus's inter-fraternity council.
