Current Responsibilities
As executive vice president and leader of the Property Management Department, Michael Dwyer is responsible for the supervision of 60 million square feet of office, industrial, and retail property in 22 markets and 15 states. He oversees a division of more than 280 property managers, engineers, accountants and support staff.

Past Experience
Mike joined NorthMarq with the acquisition of Opus Property Services in fall 2009. As national director of Opus’ Property Management companies, Mike oversaw a commercial property portfolio of more than 30 million square feet. In this role, he oversaw the company’s five regional property management directors while leading the implementation of key initiatives in the areas of technology, standardized operations and best practices. Mike also had overall fiscal and leadership responsibility for Opus Property Services, L.L.C., the property management affiliate for The Opus Group, and supervised a staff of 130 real estate professionals.

Mike has more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, with an emphasis in property management. During his career, Mike has provided property management services for a wide range of institutional and entrepreneurial clients. His management portfolios have included several urban mixed-use projects, both CBD and suburban office buildings, suburban mixed-use developments, retail shopping centers, industrial parks, corporate facilities and residential complexes. He has been directly involved in leasing on behalf of landlord clients, construction management, including a $37 million property renovation/repositioning, and development/strategic planning.

Professional and Community Involvement
Mike is a member of the National Advisory Council (NCA), the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). His involvement with BOMA includes serving as a president and board member of both the Greater Minneapolis and Kansas chapters. He holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Minnesota.

Education
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of St. Thomas. He also holds a certificate from the school’s Mini MBA Program.
