Current Responsibilities
As vice president of engineering and maintenance, Doug Shellum manages the overall business plan and operations of NorthMarq's Engineering and Maintenance divisions. He has responsibilities for marketing, client relationships and personnel.

Past Experience
Prior to joining United Properties, the predecessor to NorthMarq, Doug was director of commercial real estate for Sage Company. He provided bottom-line responsibility for a multi-site, three-state portfolio of 12 corporate-owned properties. These properties included multi-story office buildings, strip retail enclosed malls, warehouse facilities and new development.

Before becoming a director for Sage Company, Doug was a property manager for Colliers Towle, managing a variety of suburban and downtown commercial buildings and corporate facilities.

Professional and Community Involvement
Doug is certified as a Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) through the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Doug is currently serving on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities.

Doug received the first-ever Community Service Award given out by United Properties for his outstanding service to the Boys & Girls clubs of the Twin Cities. He has also received three United Properties Champions of Excellence awards for recognition of his service.

Education
Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Minnesota.
