Current Responsibilities
As senior vice president of the Healthcare Group, Steve Brown is responsible for providing real estate consulting and advisory services to healthcare organizations, corporations and clinical practices both locally and throughout the United States.

A specialist in medical practice representation, Steve understands the issues facing practices today including the impacts of capitation and reimbursement reductions, the need to drive increased profitability and physician compensation through efficiency and cost savings, strategic site analysis and selection, and the need to be responsive to patient issues.

Past Experience
Steve has been active in healthcare real estate since 1985. He has 20 years of commercial real estate experience, predominately focused in office and medical space in the Twin Cities. He has completed more than 250 medical transactions in his career and has worked on every major medical campus in the Twin Cities, as well as on a variety of national assignments. His leasing transactions exceed $500,000,000 in net lease value, and he has represented medical practices involving every specialty and subspecialty from primary care and pediatrics to imaging facilities and cancer centers.

As a healthcare real estate expert, Steve is often asked to share his knowledge. In September of 2004 he served as a panelist for the Healthcare Facilities Conference at the University of St. Thomas. He also spoke at the CCIM 10th Annual Forecast, where he provided an update on current healthcare real estate market conditions and future trends.

Professional and Community Involvement
Steve was appointed to the Planning Commission for the City of Edina in 2000 and continues to serve in this capacity today. Steve also served on the Edina Hockey Association board of directors from 2000-2003 and was the president of the board during the 2002-2003 season. He is currently on the board of directors of HockeyDocs Charities and is a long-standing member of MMGMA.

Education
Steve earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1997. Steve is a graduate of Colorado College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics.
