Current Responsibilities
Chip Ryan is an executive managing director at NorthMarq, directing the Washington, D.C., office for the NorthMarq Investment Sales group. He has more than 25 years experience in the commercial real estate industry as a broker, developer, investor and owner of investment property and commercial real estate service companies. He has participated in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sale of institutional real estate including office buildings, industrial centers and commercial land with an investment value exceeding $5 billion. The Greater Washington Council of Commercial Brokers (GWCAR) has annually recognized Chip as a leading commercial investment salesman.
Past Experience
Prior to NorthMarq, Chip was an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield for six years, focusing on investment sales. Before that, he was a partner in Barnes Morris Pardoe & Foster, a highly respected Washington, D.C.-based brokerage company that was acquired by Insignia/ESG (now CBRE). He directed the Virginia office for nine years and was among the top producers every year. He has excelled in representing institutions and investors in acquisitions and dispositions.
From 1986-1992, Chip was a managing partner and president of Cambridge Development Company. There he specialized in land acquisition, project development, financing, leasing and investment sales. He directed the land acquisition of 18 of the Cambridge project sites and developed more than 2.5 million square feet of industrial and suburban office properties.
Prior to Cambridge, Chip was a broker at CB Commercial Real Estate Services (CBRE). In this role, he specialized in industrial and office building sales and leasing. During his seven years with CB Commercial, he received many honors attesting to his industry achievements including the Top Salesman Award for the Washington Suburban Area, Top Industrial Broker for the Region and Top 20 Salesmen for CB Commercial in the nation.
