Current Responsibilities
As a vice president at NorthMarq's Midwest Plaza location, Jim’s clients have included institutional investors such as TIAA CREF, Principal Financial Real Estate Investors, IRET, Equity Office Trust, REIT Management and Research and a variety of specialized and local investors. Jim’s corporate clients include SACO, StoneArch Creative, Blackwell Burke, Pentair, Qwest, The Nature Conservancy, and Fujitsu. The depth and breadth of Jim’s ability to understand complex real estate issues comes from his wide range of experience addressing his clients’ needs in every capacity and from all perspectives, from the Investor’s and Seller’s, to the Landlord’s and Tenant’s. Rounding out this value-adding combination is his multi-faceted experience with office, industrial, telecom, and multifamily product types.
Past Experience
In 1988, Jim began his career with a local real estate investment and development firm specializing in the redevelopment and repositioning of under-used real estate. He accumulated experience in the development, financing, operations, marketing and leasing of investment properties. Jim learned to successfully combine his abundant financial and business knowledge with his savvy interpersonal skills to establish himself as an expert with the details and a strong communicator and team player.
Professional and Community Involvement
Jim is a Director on the board of Community Housing Corporation of America, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing to working families throughout America. He is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Education
Jim earned his Bachelors Degree in marketing at the University of Minnesota.
