Current Responsibilities
As director for NorthMarq’s project management team, Bill brings 30 years of national and international retail and hospitality construction, along with development experience. He currently supports US Bank’s corporate real estate growth and expansion across the United States, delivering retail and commercial facilities.
Bill has led more than 100 projects with US Bank to date, resulting in the management of more than $200 million in construction, including program management, ground-up, tenant improvements, renovation and retail development. His current responsibilities with US Bank include oversight of the bank’s corporate expansion strategy, where he delivers between 30 – 50 retail and commercial projects at any given time, budget modeling, and maintaining project schedules and brand integrity in each project delivery. Focused on control, communication, process and partnership, Bill is committed to delivering projects within scope, maintaining budget and executing on schedule.
Past Experience
Bill draws from a rich history delivering retail and hospitality projects for major corporations such as Target, Golf Galaxy, Marriott Hotels, Radisson Hotels and Carlson Companies (e.g. T.G.I. Fridays Restaurants, Country Kitchen Restaurants). Collectively, Bill has delivered more than $2 billion of construction/development projects during his career.
Examples of Bill’s accomplishments include his contributions to Target’s store expansion program, where he supported property development, prototype and concept design, operations and construction, while maintaining brand standards. Responsible to Target’s executive committee, Bill supported the delivery of 120 new stores annually, along with 30-40 remodels each year, with a critical emphasis to store branding and merchandising. While at Target, Bill’s focus on project controls and emphasis on communication resulted in projects executed on time and within budget.
As a development manager responsible for architecture, construction, real estate growth and expansion for Golf Galaxy Inc., Bill maintained an expansion program that doubled store size, expanding their store real estate from 21 to 69 retail stores nationwide. During his three-year tenure, Bill oversaw renovations, retrofits and prototype design. Bill also supported hospitality growth and expansions worldwide, delivering projects internationally for both Marriott Hotels and Radisson Hotels, where he oversaw the architecture and construction of new facilities
Professional and Community Involvement
Bill is a former member of various real estate/development associations including the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Education
Bill is a graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., where he studied architectural technology.
